Zakatul Fitr

Summary

Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), obligated payment of charity at the end of Ramadan, a portion of dates or barely, upon slave and freeman, male and female, young and old among the Muslims. The Prophet ordered it to be given before people go out for Eid prayer.

A practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, was giving Zakatul Fitr (also referred to as Sadaqatul Fitr or Fitrana) on the day of Eid, it is therefore obligatory upon all eligible Muslims to fulfil this duty, bringing a purification to the acts of worship during the month of Ramadan and uniting the fortunate with the less fortunate.

We strive to take into consideration the differences of the madhaahib.

This year EgyptAid will distribute your Zakatul Fitr to eligible families on the eve of Eid Insha’Allah.
